USA Lung Association Letter to Senate
http://lungaction.org/campaign/Senate_VoteYesCopy & paste:I am writing to urge you to vote YES on and work for passage of the Family Smoking Prevention and Tobacco Control Act in June. I was very disappointed when this important public health legislation did not become law last year. In April, quit smoking now, the House of Representatives passed the legislation by a vote of 298 to 112. I ask you to do everything you can to ensure this legislation is passed by the Senate in June. Each day more than 1,quit smoking,100 children and teens become regular smokers. Tobacco use is the leading preventable cause of death - more than 392,000 Americans die prematurely each year from smoking-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease and lung diseases like Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Unlike most other products consumed by Americans, tobacco products continue to escape even the most basic oversight. Until Congress acts, the tobacco companies will be free to continue their deadly business as usual. The Senate must pass this critical legislation in June so that it can protect the public health and help prevent a new generation from becoming addicted to tobacco products. I ask you to vote YES and vote against weakening amendments when the bill comes to the Senate floor. ***sign here******name******address***Find You senate representitive:https://writerep.house.gov/writerep/welcome.shtml
