Week 3- Putting rhythm and heavenly habits to work

Day 17 without smoking. Weight loss: 10.5#.Welcome back to the lab in its new site for the next experiment. Two weeks without smoking is all well and good. But I really do need to get on with my life. And what I need to sustain me is rhythm--a powerful, positive rhythm that transcends the rituals and two-bit rhythm of my smoking days. Step one: Bookend each day with rousing affirmative mantras. (Courtesy of Anthony Robbins and the author of The Secret.)A.M.: I now begin each day, the instant I bound out of bed,Herbal cigarettes, with a list of questions: What am I happy about? What am I excited about? What am I proud of? What am I grateful for? What am I enjoying? What am I committed to? Who do I love and who loves me? What's new and groovy in my life? What proof do I have of the power of faith? What qualities can I draw on that have been tested and proved? Where am I strong where I was weak? For each question I have from 3-6 answers I've committed to memory. I perform this mantra, mindfully, reciting the answers in the same order, with exactly the same wording, each time.P.M.: I close my day with another mantra: this time an expression of thanks for my day, quit smoking now, for specific past blessings, and future blessings I know I'm already receiving. In three days I've got into the habit: two soothing, embryonic baths in nurturing, positive thoughts. These mantras will be the spiritual glue that holds my new habits together. Gotta go now. An exciting new habit awaits me: three squares--not five or four--of heavenly dark Dove chocolate.
