Hi from a first time visitor!
Hi - Am introducing myself!Going under tag of 'Tigger's Mum', I'm almost 51, live in London and have been smoking since I was 15. Was one of those smokers who cut down to around 10 Silk Cut a day that can increase to 20 when I'm stressed. Even my Mum has given up sooner than me (she was 70 and is still nicotine free after 5 years!)I'm giving up with Champix (Chantix). Am on Day 38 of Champix (You take it for at least 14 days before quitting) and I definitely feel it is giving me a fighting chance - after a couple of false starts (despite being on the Champix I was beginining to sneak more that the odd puff at day 30) I am now on my third day without a cig. Working from home today so temptation is ever present. Daren't go out for a walk as would pass at least 4 newsagents!Tomorrow will be another different challenge as I have a day of meetings and my director smokes like a chimney and of course we get on like a house on fire! What I'm finding the most difficult is confronting those real prop & reward moments - feeling a bit stressed with a work phone call (have a fag),quit smoking now, can I manage to finish everything I need to do today before the kids come home (have a fag), teenage daughters give me mouthful (have a fag), finish major chore (have a fag),smoking cessation, straight from work to kids/cooking tea/evening shift (have fag & glass of wine!) grumpy husband (have 2 fags!).Am determined to break this ... Looking forward to more of your tips and I will be using this site for inspiration to keep my motivation high. Keep going everyone!
